Nordstrom Local Expands In LA

Nordstrom revealed Nordstrom Local Brentwood (214 26th Street) will open its doors on September 28th and Nordstrom Local Downtown Los Angeles (The Bloc, 750 West 7th Street, Suite S200) will open on October 12th. Both stores bring singular services and design aesthetics to match the needs of nearby customers.     Nordstrom opened its first Nordstrom Local on Melrose in Los Angeles in October 2017. These community hubs afford patrons the chance to shop and tap into Nordstrom services in an agreeable central location. The launch of these two added locales is a further wedge of Nordstrom's local approach. Fascinating Bosideng Show At NYFW

Bosideng, a leading light in down jackets, headlined a New York Fashion Week collection at Spring Studios Gallery 1.  Notable guests included actress Anne Hathaway, actor Jeremy Renner, Wendi Murdoch, Olivia Palermo, Danielle Bernstein, Adrianne Ho, and Leandra Medine.  Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio set off the show.  Bosideng designer Zhu Lin and Bosideng President Gao Dekang also joined the performance.  The result was 42 immaculate runway looks with every element intact.     Styled by Law Roach, this season's Bosideng assemblage displayed themes of elegant patterns, quilting processes, functional fabrics (including water and wind-proof), and origins like ropes, belts, and buckles.  Black, white and gray were the primary colors, with accents of bright yellow, rose, magenta, and silver demonstrating the junction of modern and traditional.  This is the dominant Bosideng aesthetic.     Founded in 1976, Bosideng focuses on the development, design, and production of down jackets.

Taobao Maker Festival Supercharges China Creativity And Design

Twenty of China's top independent designers featured their newest collections in a supercharged fashion show at this year's Taobao Maker Festival.     The show, using West Lake's Broken Bridge as a catwalk for models, was a festival of creativity and design. Also, a revelation of innovative technology harnessing Alibaba's effective 'See Now, Buy Now' format. It highlighted collections offering a chic modern flourish on classic Chinese culture and was a live broadcast on Youku and Taobao .      Created for the Taobao Maker Festival, the collections were fresh statements from young designers exploring a reinterpretation of Chinese culture.
