Skechers Performance Title Sponsors For Chennai Marathon

Skechers is named title sponsor of the 2019 Chennai Marathon.  The second largest marathon in India will be on January 6th, with over 25,000 runners.  Involvement is expected from runners around the world.  
   
A brainchild of the Chennai Runners, this happening embraces four events.  A Full Marathon (42.195 Km) – the flagship race, a Perfect 20 Miler (32.186 Km) – a new race category for the first time in a major marathon event, a Half Marathon (21.097 Km), and a 10 Km Run.  Involution for enthusiastic, excited, first time, and experienced runners of all ages.

The Marathon is the largest sporting event in Chennai.  Organized by Chennai Runners, a not-for-profit of dedicated runner-volunteers since 2006.  A unique running event in India entirely organized by the running community.
   
Originally started as a simple affair named the ECR Run.  Participants would begin from a resort on East Coast Road (ECR), run for 5 or 10 km, turn back, then enjoy breakfast together at the resort.  There were about 25 runners on the first ECR run.  Contributions covered the breakfast for all.  The ECR Run transformed into an annual signature event in 2010.

Compass buys Marucci.     Compass Diversified Holdings buys Marucci Sports for $200 million.     Marucci Sports was founded in 2009 by Kurt Ainsworth, a retired pitcher for the San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles, Joe Lawrence, a former second baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays, and Reed Dickens, a former White House Assistant Press Secretary under George W. Gilead buys Forty Seven.     Gilead Sciences buys Forty Seven for $4.9 billion.     Forty Seven is a clinical-stage immuno-oncology firm developing therapies targeting cancer immune evasion pathways and specific cell targeting approaches based on tech licensed from Stanford.
