Signifying 'unlike any' in Latin, dissimilis (dis'si.mi.lis) is a new NYC-based fashion marque.  It redefines fresh wardrobe essentials, crafted for those who embody 'unlike any'.  Much like its nature, the name means self-kindness and develops individuality.  Each piece celebrates what makes you dissimilar and acts as a basis of creativity for your life.  
   
Founder and designer Lara Alia joined her dedication to fashion design with her devotion to animating others to be themselves.  'What makes us different makes us special - dissimilis.  I want my pieces to show that feeling, as much as I want the wearer to feel that about themselves,' says Lara.  
   
Influenced by her own personal style and her travels between LA and NYC, Alia created a line that allows her to minimally pack a wardrobe for any coast during any season, while still being easy to dress up or down. 
   
The line includes seasonless day-to-day elements and elevated pieces that can be combined and layered for full wearability.  Collection 1 is available now for pre-order on the website www.dissimilis.com, starting now through the end of September 2018.  Pieces from the collection range in price with basics starting at $125 and luxury pieces starting at $495.

Gilead buys Forty Seven.     Gilead Sciences buys Forty Seven for $4.9 billion.     Forty Seven is a clinical-stage immuno-oncology firm developing therapies targeting cancer immune evasion pathways and specific cell targeting approaches based on tech licensed from Stanford.
