LAFW Partners With Petersen

LA Fashion Week (LAFW) will be hosting its 2019 Spring/Summer runway productions from October 6th - 10th at the Petersen Auto Museum, an important Los Angeles landmark.  Over 20 award-winning designers & artists from around the globe will capture the spotlight to showcase their newest work at LAFW. 
   
"LA is experiencing a cultural renaissance and is being noticed the world around. We're excited to be a driving force behind its development into the premier hub for fashion, art, design, and entertainment," says Arthur Chipman, Executive Producer at LA Fashion Week. 
   
After opening a successful summer Car + Fashion affair with designers Escada and Porsche, the newest season of shows begins October 6th.  With every episode, LAFW builds a stronger arrangement of strategic brands and alliances, expanding the contours of West Coast Fashion.  
   
Like Cross Colours, the seminal 90s hip-hop activated brand created by Carl Jones & TJ Walker, making their formal runway renewal.  LA avant-garde Bohemian Society by Victor Wilde, renowned for their vivid theatrical shows.  RS Visual Thing by Radka Salcmannova, known for her impossible beauty figure representations.  And Vogue magazine's latest featured label Bomme Studio by designer Bo Matthew Metz.
   
Fabiana Milazzo, a high fashion designer from Brazil known for her beautiful gowns and adored by celebrities like Katie Holmes and Gisele Bundchen will be making her US Runway Debut.  Featured country Thailand joins LAFW again with a fresh street fashion contingent of Issue Thailand, Q Design And Play, Iconic Official, Lalalove, and jeweler Sarran Youkongdee.
   
With groundbreaking designers, influential guests, and over 2.5 billion digital impressions per season, LAFW is an exceptional platform.  Affirmed by Mayor Eric Garcetti and California State Senator Ben Allen as the Official Fashion Week of the City of Los Angeles.

Compass buys Marucci.     Compass Diversified Holdings buys Marucci Sports for $200 million.     Marucci Sports was founded in 2009 by Kurt Ainsworth, a retired pitcher for the San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles, Joe Lawrence, a former second baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays, and Reed Dickens, a former White House Assistant Press Secretary under George W. Bush.     Marucci ’s first buy was Marucci Bat Company, launched out of a backyard shed in 2004. Ainsworth then led the buyout of an Amish-run Pennsylvania wood mill in 2008. Gilead buys Forty Seven.     Gilead Sciences buys Forty Seven for $4.9 billion.     Forty Seven is a clinical-stage immuno-oncology firm developing therapies targeting cancer immune evasion pathways and specific cell targeting approaches based on tech licensed from Stanford. Forty Seven’s lead program, magrolimab , is a monoclonal antibody against the CD47 receptor, a ‘don’t eat me’ signal that cancer cells commandeer to avoid being ingested by macrophages. Evaluated ant ibodies are in many clinical studies of patients with myelodysplastic syndrome, acute myeloid leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and solid tumors.
