Riccardo Tisci Reveals Pre-Collection

Riccardo Tisci reveals a Burberry pre-collection for Fall/Winter 2019. Touching on streetwear and military chic, Riccardo shifts his attention to manifesting codes. A distinct focus on archive prints, house colors, and classic outerwear. Riccardo said: 'I wanted this collection to be a continuation of the story I began to tell in September.'
Riccardo elaborates on animal motifs. Gorilla faces gaze at you from black t-shirts. Leopard collars on Dalmatian print car coats. Leather bridle straps, an homage to the Burberry knight-on-horseback logo, embellish trench coats and suit jackets. A faux mélange shearling coat bows to the new Burberry anti-fur code.
The new TB monogram, which Riccardo worked on with Peter Saville, is abundant. Translated into dark green camouflage for a hoodie, shorts, and a cape. In finespun restatements on scarves, satin skirts, and silk blouses. The intertwined TB pops as a big logo on an orange puffer vest, and a wispy TB motif drifts across men’s shirts and suits.
Riccardo said: 'I wanted to celebrate the beauty, heritage, and legacy that I discovered when I first arrived at Burberry. B Classic is an edit that I’ve curated to honor the icons of the House – pieces like the trench coat, the quilted jacket, the car coat, the kilt – which sits at the heart of the SS19 pre-collection designed by the fantastic Burberry design team.'
