The merger foresees a change of business. Where all enterprises, whatever industry, product, or service, will be data-driven. The plan is to combine offerings in an end-to-end analytics platform, helping both regular business users and specialists. Sisense’s current product will be the platform’s foundation. Stack extension comes from Periscope Data’s integration features, connectors for third-party analytics tools, and a query editor in three programming languages.
Jens Niemann of R2 Data Labs at Rolls-Royce said: ‘There are lots of separate sources of data that need to be tracked with a complex operation such as an airline, which we analyze to improve procedures that making flying safer. Sisense simplifies the data puzzle, delivering important insights and alerts that help improve safety. We're excited about this merger, which will offer even more powerful tools to handle our most complex data challenges.’
Amir Orad of Sisense said: ‘Soon, every company will be a data-driven company and every product a data-driven product. Cloud, big data, AI, and machine learning are accelerating this transition. We believe that data, product, and business teams are the analytic builders behind this transformation. People who want to build, change, and impact the world. We're the single-stack unified platform that will get you there, giving power to those builders and insights to everyone.
I realized over the last eighteen months that we were building leadership positions into two unique areas of the market that will become one as industries and technologies evolve. I think the pace of change is an interesting intellectual debate, but the direction is one direction. People who deploy this technology will give better care, better service, hire better, promote employees and grow them better, have better marketing, better sales, and be more cost effective.’
Harry Glaser of Periscope Data said: ‘This is a big win for two highly complementary companies. We share a deep commitment to an inclusive culture and diverse leadership. Amir and I have been talking for over a year and realized we're both building something special, and our people and values fit together. Both Periscope Data and Sisense have been named top companies to work for in San Francisco and New York, respectively, and recognized for diversity by Gartner and Forbes. These unique cultures and our customer-first DNA will reinforce each other in the combined Sisense to deliver the next business intelligence industry powerhouse.
We have been pulled into this broader business intelligence conversation, and it has put us in a place where, as we do this merger, we are able to instantly leapfrog the three years it would have taken us to deliver that to our customers, and deliver operationalized insights on integration day on day one. It starts from a conviction that these advanced analytics can be operationalized throughout enterprises and with their customers. This is going to drive transformation inside our customers that’s great for them and turns them into data-driven companies.’
Maggie Li of ZipRecruiter said: ‘Periscope Data has greatly improved our time to insight and helped us build a data-first culture. We're excited to see what comes next as they join forces with Sisense.’
Sisense Chief Executive Amir Orad will lead the combined company. Periscope Data co-founders Harry Glaser and Tom O’Neill will take on unspecified leadership roles.
